MEDICATION ASSISTANCE

In order to protect the transplanted organ and the patient’s life, the Georgia Transplant Foundation offers a Temporary Medication Assistance Program to help with the costs of post-transplant prescription medications.

Get Started!

Prescription medications are an essential part of the post-transplant medical regimen.

There are emergency and transitional situations in which transplant patients find themselves with no coverage for medications and unable to afford the cost from their own finances.

In order to protect the transplanted organ and the patient’s life, the Georgia Transplant Foundation offers a Temporary Medication Assistance Program. The amount of assistance is limited according to the circumstances and time needed to implement a permanent plan for medications expenses.

  • Prescription(s) must accompany financial application.
  • Over-the-counter medications are not covered.
  • Applicants are expected to work with their transplant center social worker for information on other available resources that could help defray expenses and to develop a permanent plan for obtaining medication(s).
