Provides financial assistance alleviating a crisis situation or offering transitional support for emergency needs that are not considered medical in nature but have a direct impact on the survival and health of the transplant recipient.

Provides access to transplantation for potential candidates who must travel to the hospital for evaluation and need help with the fuel and lodging costs associated with travel.

Helps with temporary lodging costs while one is away from home seeking transplant related care. This must be pre- approved and is subject to a daily maximum.

Helps in circumstances unique to pediatric candidates/recipients and their families.

Provides grants to both pre- and post-transplant clients to assist in accessing appropriate dental care directly related to transplant needs. All dental care must be pre-approved.

Provides financial assistance for the cost of an individual’s insurance premiums for a limited time for candidates not covered by Medicare, and for recipients.

Provides assistance based on need to living donors for financial hardships created by their organ donation.

Helps recipients obtain medications by providing financial support on a limited basis to allow time for a permanent plan for medication needs to be implemented.

Helps with the cost of travel to and from the transplant center for follow-up care.

The Transplant Fundraising Program assists transplant candidates and recipients in financially preparing for ongoing costs associated with transplantation, primarily medication costs and insurance premium expenses.

Realizing that transplantation poses financial hardships on the entire family, the Georgia Transplant Foundation annually awards academic scholarships to selected students who are transplant recipients, dependents of a transplant recipient, living donors, parents or the sibling of a transplant recipient under the age of 22.

JumpStart is an employment and career development service available to the transplant community. JumpStart counselors work one-on-one with clients in determining their needs, abilities, and assisting in finding appropriate employment.

Waiting for and receiving an organ transplant is a very emotional time. Learning that you or a family member needs a transplant, going through the evaluation process, waiting for the call, having the surgery, recovering, and then adjusting to “chronic wellness” – life after transplant – can be a wonderful but overwhelming, stressful, and anxious time. That’s where The Mentor Project can provide assistance!

GTF developed the Trends in Transplant Conferences to bring transplant-related resources and education to all areas of Georgia.

The Couple’s Enrichment Retreat, “A Step Together,” is for transplant recipients and their spouses/significant others.

GTF hosts support groups virtually in order to meet the needs of the transplant community by connecting digitally for support and networking.
